Pull up the run dialog (Start/run or win+R) Enter CMD You get a dos box -enter the following commands set MPD_HOST=hostname set MPD_PORT=6600 MPC play If your hostname is wrong you will get a message like; error: timeout in attempting to get a response from "hostname" on port xxxx You will probably get the same message if there is an intervening firewall.
